Why does it always rain on me?

Is it because I lied when I was 17? Or because I live in Manchester? Whatever the reason, I'm soaking wet as usual, which is not great when I have a 3(ish) mile walk home. Anyways enough of this rubbish, lets make some hay!

Song#1- Bee Gees- You Win Again
Song#2- The Cure- Close To Me
Song#3- Fleetwood Mac- Landslide
Song#4- Scissor Sisters- I Don't Feel Like Dancing
Song#5- My Chemical Romance- Black Parade

Album#1- The Cure- Greatest Hits
Album#2- The Doves- The Last Broadcast

(I realised that resistance is futile, if you can't beat 'em etc etc. Plus it beefs up this update considerably hahaha!)

Ok well I'm meant to be putting the finishing touches to my rough draft of a report thats been hanging over my head for about 3 weeks, the hand in time is oooo, 70 mins. :O But the thing is nearly finished so I think I'll take a break.

This week has been a funny one. Monday was hectic. Had a double lecture with this guy:

The one and only Giles Droop, his relentless mumbling about the Archean Age (actually a fascinating topic) made my ears want to implode. And then I was running around like a headless chicken trying to get the report finished for Monday's tutorial, only to find out it didn't need to be handed in til today. Ugh.

And I'm particularly fed up with the railways in general. The buggers won't let me book my ticket online because my card is an electron (and they don't do electron- wankers) so to book a ticket I have to walk (or bus it, but I hate Manc buses, they smell and are soooo slow) about 3 miles. So I did this on Monday evening after i had finished all my work (about 7) and arrived at 8, only to have someone block me from entering because they were just closing. Fair play, they shut at 8, can I come back tomorrow? "yes sure" they said. Turned up yesterday at about 5, and queued at the office. Took about 20 mins to queue. Reached the office, asked to book for Saturday. They said, sorry we are understaffed we can't serve you. Agggh. Didn't say that out loud of course, but I felt like punching someone. So I'm off again soonish after I've handed in my essay and it stops raining. Third time lucky right?

Walking home last night through Rusholme at about Midnight, I was a witness to some of the Eid celebrations. The roads were completely blocked with people hanging out of seriously pimped-up cars with speakers blaring. I saw at least 6 limos last night, including a couple of stretch 4x4s. And a couple of Ferraris. It was most weird. The gridlock stretched right back to where I live, about a mile away, people hooting horns, playing music and hanging out of windows.

Had some good nights out recently. Here's one from the Geog Geol night out where the lunatics took over the asylum:

(ugh will this upload???)

Pretty mad.

Right well thats enough. I need to do some work.

What a farce!

Just wanted to say something. Why the fuck are Newcastle United so shit?

There I said it. Now I'm off to smash something.

Smokin'!

Had one of those 'It'll never happen to me' type moments whilst watching telly earlier this evening alone in the lounge. Just sat there happily flicking through the music channels, seeing whats on, the rest of the lads all working away. And then the picture on the screen starts to retreat away from the edges, and seemed to crumple. At the same time crackles emanate from the TV. I rush off the sofa and see plumes of smoke rising from the TV. It was rather a shock.
The thing is now in the garage and Jav's TV is now in the lounge (yay!). There are now 2 broken TVs in the garage, the first having conked out back in June. Clearly this house is cursed.
And the place is nearly always a tip. There are bags and bags of rubbish lying in the kitchen, the bathroom is gross and my room is so small it gets grotty in double quick time.
Humph :(
Its rained sooo much over the last few days, even with this being Manchester. Outside the union it washed away some of the tarmac so that the cobbles are showing :) Last Sunday on a hike up Scafel Pike in the Lakes, I got absolutely soaked to the bone and caught a cold as a result :(. Its not been great.
I'm faced with a dilemma. To beard or not to beard. I can't decide!
Had a masquerade party last Friday. Was great, although hardly anyone esle was wearing one, so I looked a bit of a goon. And then at the end of the night, a girl stole my mask (well actually I gave it to her). Wish I hadn't now, I had become quite attatched.
Time for beddies methinks
