Hey the thing works.
Ahhh its a satisfying feeling knowing everything is done. Its a good job too seeing as how its Christmas Eve and everywhere is closed. Oh yeah except Mum's pressie, but that shouldn't take 10 mins. Then its relax and play Trivial Pursuit, or if Dad gets his way, watch 'Its a Wonderful Life'. Awwwwww yeah it makes me all nostalgic.
Wasn't looking too good yesterday though. Left my pressie buying till the last minute which was rather silly. Had seen a program on telly the night before about why blokes tend to leave it all till the last minute. Aparently its to do with us traditionally being the hunters, so our shopping is done with one throw of the spear, so to speak. Which is all very well but I'm sure prehistoric man didn't have much of a choice when it came to spearing his prey. It was probably a choice between a buffalo and a wooly mammoth, unlike shopping in Newcastle which boggles the mind. Eventually Mum told me what she wanted and I bought really safe predictable stuff for everyone else. Still, I'm sure they will all still be well appreciated.
Mum keeps going on about how this Christmas is more special because I have been away, but to be honest it feels like I haven't left at all. Everything seems so normal. I even popped into School for a certificate awards evening, which featured two boring speeches, amazingly neither courtesy of Mr Wise, which has to be a first. And then later at the pub Kris made me laugh while I was gulping some beer- it wasn't pretty.
Ok well have to go as Mum wants us all to play fish, fruit and flower, and the cat just jumped on the keyboard. Hope everyone has a good Christmas.
